A Powerful and Available Force…
“They do it as if they mean it…”
“She has great heart…”
“ He plays with terrific spirit…”
Those statements have a great common origin. They reflect the power of the human spirit.
When we do something with belief, we do it with a will. It shows in the performance. Belief manifests itself in every expression in the human condition.
It’s usually seen in the manner of expression. Whether it’s in words, deed, or intent, the belief we have in anything comes out in our expression.
That’s why someone may use the right words to say they love someone, but the tone, the posture, the look, contradict the words. Or a team can tell themselves they’re going to win, going to succeed, but the walk, the hang of the head, the body language, betray the statement.
That’s the power of belief. Many people believe, they really do believe, that they can do a particular thing, but they’re undermined by some niggling doubt, some snide remark, some unkown quantity that whispers in the back of the mind that all is not right.
That’s a shame, because many are indeed capable of much more than that with which they credit themselves.
But fear and doubt are formidable foes, especially when they’re coming from within. And doubt is a hungry monster. It’s a negative belief.  Doubt has a great appetite and will gorge on whatever scraps are available, if let. Fear stokes doubt, gives it energy and imagination and allows it rampage all over every part of our lives.
Unless we decide otherwise. And that’s the key, isn’t it?
Decision.
We need to decide who we need to be, to get done what we need to do. Start there.
With that decision.
That’s the starting point.
