Human Progress...

There's an irony to our march into the future. We're meant to be the intelligent ones on the planet, the ones with brains and the ability to use them.

The illustration above causes pause for thought on that. As we can see, we evolve, according to the illustration, to a high level, and seem to be achieving a certain refinement in our development, when all of a sudden, we revert into the final picture on the extreme right.

And that's not an exaggeration. It's as if the march of progress has suddenly been attacked by a mysterious Force of Destruction and unrolled itself in a deformity of nature.

It is a force. And it is destructive. And it's predictable. And it's relentless. And it's on its way to destroying the Human Race from the inside out. It's a Force from within.

One of the ironies is that it's self-inflicted. In spite of the dazzling intelligence that creates computers, predicts weather, calculates business, finance, seeks social equity, makes tubes that carry us across the Atlantic to another Continent in a matter of hours, we still can't figure a way  to feed ourselves.

With the indecent wealth and choices available to us, we still blunder along in a state of indecision, easy options, indiscipline and, ultimately, malnutrition.

I was told a couple of years ago, about the Malnutrition Advisory Group, organised, I believe, by Tony Blair, who did a survey on private hospitals in South East England. That, as if you didn't know, is one of the wealthiest parts of one of the wealthiest countries in the world.

They found that over sixty six percent of the patients in the hospitals were suffering from mild to severe overweight. They were also suffering from mild to severe malnutrition.

Of that sixty six percent, fifty percent were in the hospital because of malnutrition. That's a third of the total hospital population researched.

In other words they were overfed, but undernourished.

And that's why food-use isn't just about how much you're eating , as it is about what you're eating.

It's about learning how to use the food you eat to nourish the cells of your body, repair the damage of wear, tear, age, and modern day living, and to maintain the body, the mind, and indeed the spirit, in the whole of health.
