The Mindful Revolution

The Mindful Revolution.

It’s one of the ironies of progress that as we enjoy improved living standards in general, it appears we have to teach ourselves how to cope with it.

We were told a couple of decades ago that we were now entering the age of leisure; that technology was here to help us.

Wouldn’t you wonder?

Work’s got faster, communication’s instant, and here we are trying as humans to keep up with the speed dictated by the machines.

Who’s running who?

But this isn’t new. We’re in a constant state of adjustment. We’ve been adapting to change from the year dot. It’s just that the speed has doubled, trebled, quadrupled in the last fifteen or twenty years.

The rate at which systems, machines, facilities, become obsolete indicates that.

And our lives are changing with it.

And if we’re not to succumb to the force of technology, and find ourselves burned out, run down, even obsolete, we need to take measures on how to cope with everyday life.

And it doesn’t matter what job you do. The pace of life has changed. Speed pervades every area.

If we let it.

Which is what Mindful Awareness is about; being Mindful of how you use yourself, being Aware of your resources, marshalling your abilities to cope, contend with, and make the very most of your life on a daily basis.

You can learn the 3 main areas for attention here, in the next email, and see how you can take steps to keep yourself in tune, alive and calmly alert for truly productive, enjoyable living.
