The Very First Step…
Let’s go over this again. Before you groan, ‘not again’, let’s look at what we’re talking about.
Your life. That’s what we’re talking about. How you feel, how you think, how you make what you can of your days, your resources, your abilities. That’s what we’re talking about.
And it doesn’t matter whether you’re 18 or 88. How you think about, feel about, and respond to those thoughts and feelings is what’ll determine how your life treats you.
How’s that? Here’s how.
If you’re off form, if you’re physically tired, a bit run down, not much, just a bit, your body gets more tired, it gets weakened, it atrophies (wastes). A tired and weakened body puts a huge strain on every organ, every system, every function in your physical being.
Your physical condition reflects in your mental condition. Because you’re tired , a bit run down, slower, weaker, than when you’re well, everything, even the simplest chore, becomes hard work. Life, in other words, becomes one tough daily grind.
And because the mind is affected by this condition, just the thought of doing something about it makes you even more tired.
That’s why we’re doing this little exercise; not because we’re rushing off to the gym to crucify ourselves, but because we need to embed in our minds the idea that what we may want is available.
So, if you want more energy, improved concentration, better strength, more speed, a feeling of wellness, confidence, a sense of direction and meaning to your life, a quiet sense of purpose, take this time to think about it. Write it down, as we suggested in the last post, and bring those aims, those intentions, around with you. Learn them. Chew on them. Let them digest and assimilate into your subconscious.
Then, when you’ve decided what you want from a wellness programme, make your plan, take your decision, and get on with it.
Now you’ll know where you’re going.
